Tom Hanks Mourns Emmy Award Winning Singer Adam Schlesinger's Demise; 52-Yr-Old Singer Succumbs To Coronavirus

Adam Schlesinger, the co-founder of Fountains of the Wayne band, is no more. The singer was admitted to the hospital after he tested positive for Coronavirus. He had been undergoing the treatment for a few days, however, his health deteriorated. He succumbed to Coronavirus on April 1; he was 52. Adam was an Emmy-award winner. He received the prestigious trophy for outstanding original music and lyrics for Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal from TV musical drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend last year. As soon as the news of his demise made it to the headlines, Forrest Gump actor Tom Hanks took to Twitter to mourn his death.
Tom Hanks wrote on Twitter, "There would be no Playtone without Adam Schlesinger, without his That Thing You Do! He was a One-der. Lost him to Covid-19. Terribly sad today. Hanx." The actor and his wife Rita Wilson too were tested positive for Coronavirus and admitted to a hospital in Australia. They returned to the US recently after recovering from the Coronavirus and are observing self-quarantine.
On Adam's health condition, co-member of his band, Chris Collingwood had earlier shared a statement of Adam's family on social media that read, "Thank You for outpouring love for Adam and his family. Adam has been hospitalised with Covid-19. He is on the ventilator and has been sedated to facilitate his recovery."

Adam Schlesinger and his band were most famous for their song Stacy's Mom. He had won three Emmy Awards in total and also a Grammy Award in the year 2009. May his soul rest in peace.
